If the interaction between the monomers and the template is not so strong, the complex of the template will be formed only with growing oligomers (b) or the polymer (c). In the case of path (a), the rate of the initiation, propagation, and termination will be dependent on the presence of the template, in the case of (b) the rate of termination will be retarded to cause the acceleration of the polymerization rate, and in the case of (c) the rate of polymerization will be independent of the presence of the template.
